Miniso International Headquarters Tower stands 287.5 metres tall in Guangzhou’s Pazhou Innovation Economic Zone. Designed by Philip Castillo of Murphy/Jahn Architects, the super Grade-A building integrates retail, R&D, and office functions within a single 140,000 m² complex, with projected revenue exceeding RMB 15 billion. Hongyu is privileged to orchestrate its architectural illumination, weaving light into a narrative of eco-conscious ambition and vibrant energy.
Lighting Design
Inspired by Miniso’s ethos of accessible, joyful living paired with unwavering environmental stewardship, our lighting scheme embodies a “harmonious ascent” motif. The lighting concept is organised into three vertical zones, reflecting the building’s functional and spatial hierarchy:
- Podium – tunable warm‑white lighting (2700K–4000K) highlights product displays and green walls, with dynamic colour washes in pastel and blue tones to activate the retail facade and draw visitors into the brand experience.
- Tower – linear grazing lights trace the curtain‑wall geometry, creating a subtle upward cascade of light that symbolises rising innovation, from design labs to executive floors. Adaptive dimming reduces energy use across different times of day.
- Crown – a sculptural LED crown with programmable settings, shifting between neutral nighttime tones and daytime solar‑adaptive modes, supporting the building’s LEED Platinum and Three‑Star Green Label certifications.

- 4,200+ RGBW LED fixtures with CRI >95 for accurate colour rendering in exhibition areas.
- DMX512 + IoT control with 15 intelligent scenes (day mode, retail peak, global events, night‑zero spill), integrated with weather sensors for 40% energy optimisation.

- 10‑year warranty and remote AI diagnostics for maintenance.
- Broadcast‑grade media capability on select facades for brand content, with controlled light spill
